How we vet

We don’t recommend everyone.

A vetted listing means we’d send a friend there. That’s the whole bar, and it’s why the list is short.

What we look at

  • What people in town actually say about them, not what a website claims.
  • References from customers who had real work done.
  • The quality of the work itself, where we can see it.
  • Whether they answer the phone, show up, and finish.
  • How long they’ve been working here.
  • Firsthand experience, ours or a neighbour’s.

You can’t buy it

Nobody pays to be vetted, and nobody pays for a better position. If that ever changes, this page will say so plainly.

What it isn’t

Vetting is not a warranty, a guarantee, a licence check, or insurance. It’s a considered recommendation from people who live here. Hire anyone the way you’d hire them anywhere: agree the work and the price before it starts.

Everything else on the site

When we don’t have someone vetted, Felipe shows what’s actually in town, pulled from Google. Those are clearly marked as unvetted every time they appear. They’re useful; they’re just not our recommendation.

Know somebody Felipe should know?

If someone did right by you, tell us. We look at every name — it doesn’t make them vetted, but it’s how we find people.
